Group Medical Plan Options

Group Medical Plans are health plans offered by an employer or business that provides medical and health coverage to its employees. There are several types of plans which offer varying degrees of coverage.

HMO – This plan usually limits coverage to care from doctors who work with the HMO. It might not cover care from doctors that are out-of-network. This plan may also require you to get referrals to seek care from specialists.

HMO Open Access – Allows employees to see specialists without a referral from a general care physician, but they must be in-network.

POS Open Access – This plan provides out of network benefits

PPO – This plan offers the option to use doctors that are out-of-network and provides out-of-network benefits. Using doctor’s in-network may cost less with this plan.
